The institute is delighted to invite you to our Third Annual Risk Summit, which will be conducted on 25th to 27th November, 2020 at Stella Maris, Bagamoyo (Tanzania).
Theme of the Summit:
“Significance of Risk Management and the Post COVID-19 Economy Impact.”
The summit discussion will center on the theme as divided into topics on:
- Tanzania government budget 2020/21 & strategic direction (Post-covid-19 emerging risks & suggested mitigations),
- Advanced Cyber & Information Security (Emerging risks),
- Performance of Risk Management in public sector in post covid-19,
- Financial stability and market soundness – Role of Central Bank,
- Risk Intelligence Culture in organizational settings & and best practices,
- Tanzania financial sector governance (Emerging financial risks at local and international level),
- Banking sector post covid-19 challenges and dynamics (Credit and other related risks).

The objective of the summit
Addressing risk management agenda is an integrative issue both at the macro and micro-level in the country and at the international level whereas standards and norms pioneered by international organizations have been adopted as regular best practices across sectors in countries.
Specific objectives of the Risk Summit are:
- Participants gain insights on risk management dynamics on planning level in the post covid-19 economy and the mitigation mechanism.
- Participants gain insights on impact and risks of evolution of technological break-through.
- Participants understand the performance of risk management in the public sector and allied challenges.
- Participants gain insights on country’s financial stability and the role of the financial regulator in the economy.
- Participants gain knowledge and insights on risks in international financial systems and their integration with local financial system.
- Participants gain knowledge on liquidity and credit risks in financial system in the post covid-19 environment.
- Participants gain skills on how to instill risk intelligence culture in organizational settings as focal point in ethical foundation.
The outcome of the Summit
It is expected that participants will gain insights and information and knowledge on the on-going developments in risk management as related to planning, governance, and as well understand the significance of risk management during the post-covid-19 period in the wave of technological break-through, and evolution in the financial systems at local and international level and their related challenges plus how risk culture can support in establishing ethical foundation.
At the end of the day, participants will understand the integrative nature of risk management across different disciplines, and be able to grab it as an opportunity for value creation and value protection in organizations.
